Pre Christmas Eve Trail Run. Tuesday at 6:15pm. Join us for a nice ramble down the Luce Line from the Ox Yoke Inn parking lot. Even if we have a little bit of snow the trail will be perfect for us. We will go out a few miles and return to the warmth of the Ox Yoke Inn for a bit of fun!! If you can't make the run, join us at 7:00pm for the ED (eat and drink) part.

Join us for a great Saturday morning run. We are going to meet in Victoria at Vic's Bar parking lot. We will hop on the LTR trail and head out towards Shorewood. Its super flat, smooth gravel, plowed and in great shape!! We will go out and back so all paces are welcomed and encouraged. Bring your four legged friends too (oh and your dog can come along too, if you want). I am sure there will be some fun had afterwards as well.

We will do an out and back on the trail then head over to the Anderson's house (24375 Wood Dr Shorewood 55331) for soup. Although it is Tom's birthday, he is making soup. Yes it's his Birthday!!! Join us at The Suburban Restaurant in Excelsior 342 Third St. Excelsior, MN 55331 at 6:15pm Tuesday. The Lake Minnetonka LTR is right across the parking lot. The trail is plowed and just begging for runners. Its nice and protected from the wind as well. Heck it will be like running in the summer. it's so nice! OK, just kidding, but it is nice!! Bring grippies and headlamp and warm clothes. The plan is 4 to 6 miles with plenty laughs along the way.

It's a Turkey of a WEEK!

The snow has melted and the trail is nice and dry. It's going to be a little chilly so bundle up and let's hit the trails! Bring your head lamps because with the snow all gone the wooded areas will be mighty dark. The plan is a nice easy 4 to 6 mile run to be followed by fun and laughs.

Join us to cook off some of that yummy turkey you had on Thursday. We will be having a cardio, strength and sweat fest at the gym. We set up as many stations as we have people and we work for 2 minutes then take 30 seconds to change stations and so on and so on for an hour. Its a lot of fun and its guaranteed to get your fitness level up!

Join us for a fun time on the road/trail. We leave from the Anytime in Mound for a 6-7 mile run. Bring your pup along if you would like; "who let the dogs out?" The pace is usually pretty steady around the 10 minute mile area. Grab your warm clothes and lets get our fitness on!!

It will be around 6 miles on the roads/paths and the group will cruise along at a 10-11 minute mile pace. It is shaping up to be nice weather and a great time!! Tuesday Trail Shuffle 11-18-14

Join us at Maple Plain Snap Fitness at 6:15pm on Tuesday for a headlamp snowy trail shuffle. The woods keep wind down so the temps are super nice (ok just kidding, its pretty dang cold, but super fun!!) Leave your ear buds at home so you can hear the crunch of your fellow runner zooming down the trail. There's a 4-5 and 6 mile group so its totally up to you how far and how fast you go. And don't forget there is free popcorn across the street after!!

Meet us at the Snap Fitness in Maple Plain at 6:15pm. We will head to Baker Park (just about 2 blocks down the street from Snap Fitness) for a great night adventure. Bring a head lamp (getting dark earlier). Baker Park has a great paved trail with very few hills. Its a great place to start the head lamp season off!! Plus if you didn't know, Monie's across the street has great popcorn!! Just sayin.

The trails are in great shape! The pace is going to be slow and steady (not really sure about the steady part). The group will loop back to the parking lot a few times during the 3 hour event so you are welcome to join in at the beginning or at 8:30 or 9:30 and just show up and get on the trails and the chances are good you will run into the group of crazies.

If you want to pre run the course or at least parts of it, join us on Sunday morning at 8:00am in the main parking lot. We will grab some water, some food and a map and see what happens. The plan is to go slow for a couple hours; walk the big hills and run the rest of the course. The weather looks perfect and the Vikings don't play until later in the afternoon so you can still catch the game. Shaping up to be a great weekend of fun and fitness.

We meet in the parking lot of the Lowry Nature Center at 6:15pm before heading out for a ramble through the woods and meadows. The trails are in great shape with new wood chips installed and all the brush cut back. There will be routes of 3-4-5 and 6 miles. The nicest part of Lowry is how it is designed; the loops all come back to the center. No matter what speed you travel, you are bound to run into someone from the group. We all go for about an hour or so and then the fun begins!

Join us at Lowry Nature Center for a fun trail fitness event! We meet in the parking lot at 6:15pm and then head off onto the trails. The trails are in great shape with fresh wood chip and gravel in areas. There are 3-4 and 6 mile groups so there's a group for every fitness level. The days are getting shorter so don't mess out! Bring a head lamp if you have one because by the end of the night you may need it. After the fitness (you can take your head lamp off) we will find some fun some place (we always do)!!

Short Week.... Fun Week!

Lowry Nature Center in Victoria is a great place for a trail run/walk/hike. It's got gravel and wood chip trails, a few springy bridges, a couple hills and tons of really pretty views. Plus best of all; on Tuesday evenings the place is filled with a bunch of fitness people out there getting their sweat on! Join us for a truly fun time. You can go for 2-3-4 or 6 miles and see plenty of wildlife. Afterwards we tend to head into town and take over a local place for a few laughs.

Join us for some great strength training that includes core work. One thing most runners miss out on is strength training so this class is a must. We have been doing it for two weeks now and let me tell ya; it's a lot of fun while getting a great workout! You don't have to be a Snap Fitness member to join in on the fun. The first class is FREE!!!

You can pick a group that is going 3-4 or 6 miles and at the pace you would like. The gravel and wood chip trails are very well maintained and not too hilly. If you have never been on these trails you are truly missing out. Afterwards we will head into Victoria for refreshments and a few laughs.

Weekend Fitness Opportunities 8-16 and 8-17

Saturday 8-16 
Meet at Gear West at 8:30am for a great trail run/hike. The trails are in great shape and last week there were hardly any bugs at all! Yay, less bugs!! You can go as long and fast or as slow as you on the fitness part. You will want to go fast on the waffle part because there are YUMMY!! Bring your friends and head for the woods, or stay on the Luce Line gravel path; either way, its a blast!

Maple Plain Days Beer Barrel 5K
Saturday 8-16
You read it right, the Beer Barrel 5K starts at 8:30am on Saturday!! Registration opens at 7:30am at the Park and Ride parking lot on Baker Park Rd. Maple Plain is having a whole day of fun, kicked off with a 5K in Baker Park. There a farmers market, softball tournament, classic car show, a parade, Bingo and the beer gardens open at 3:00pm. There will be entertainment from 1:00pm until 11:30pm. It looks to be a great time!!

The last Endless Summer Trail Race is this week. The race is at Hyland Park in Bloomington and starts at 6:30pm. You need to get there early for parking. If you have never done an Endless Summer Race; they are truly well done! Plus you get a great beer glass and beer and pizza at the end! He is the link to the race.

Join us for fitness and fun. You can zoom around Baker Park for your run. The trail is awesome; nicely paved, bath room stops, water fountain, wild life and very pretty views! The whole loop is 6.5 miles but can be an out and back also; so for for a half hour and come back, simple and fun! Or if you want to hit the strength and cardio equipment; Snap Fitness will be open for FUN! We will have some circuit training set up with; Climb mill, elliptical, rowing machine, bike, and tread mill. SWEAT it up!

The Week Ahead 8-3-14

Well the secret is out. Tuesday's are a blast! Lowry Nature is great for all levels of runners and walkers and run/walkers. The trails are nice and wide, covered in wood chips and gravel. Sure there are a few bugs, but they gotta eat too. You can go out for a nice hike or a speedy turn on the trails. After the fitness is done, we head out together in a sweaty caravan to grab refreshments and refuel. It's a great way to meet new people and get your fitness on!

Join us at Lowry Nature Center in Victoria for a fun night of trails! It's always a good time. Paces will vary; run, run/walk, hike, stroll, crawl (those last two might invite a few more bugs than you want). Its not going to be hard to get a sweat on!! Lowry is great because the trails are all wood chips are gravel and they all connect; there are loops of 1 to 3 miles and the total miles range from 3 to 6 miles. Go for an hour and meet us back in the lot to decide where we want to go for refreshments.

Thursday Team R.E.D. Metro: 
7/31/14 6:00pm
Gear West / El Parian Mexican. Join us for some fitness and some fun! We will meet in the True Value parking lot next to El Parian Mexican Restaurant in Long Lake. We won't even have to cross Highway 12 for our fitness. Afterwards we will enjoy some great food and fun!! We will do an out and back, so any pace you move at is welcomed and encouraged. Runners, walkers, run/walkers can all head out together for 25-30 minutes and spin around and head back. The only rule is to HIGH-5 folks as you pass on the way back! Get there early to do some shopping at Gear West, great deals to be had!!

Join us at 8:30am at Gear West for some crazy fun. It's all about getting your fitness on! Run, run/walk, walk its all good. This week HOKA will be there letting us try their shoes! If you ever wanted to try the highly cushioned HOKA, this is your chance. You can stay on the paved/gravel and or head into the woods for some single track fun! Its muddy and buggy but worth it!! There are even a couple creeks to cross. You can go as far as you like, 3-4, up to 8 miles. After your fitness, get back to Gear West for Waffles and Coffee and a few laughs.
