Week of 12-14-15 to 12-19-15

Tuesday 6:15pm; Mexican Fun! Meet at El Parion in Long Lake at 6:15pm for a Luce Line Ramble. Park paved, Park gravel, ALL FUN!! Afterwards join us for some extra good Mexican food. We could almost sit outside on the patio......... NAH!!! Should be a fun one!

Thursday 6:00pm; is turning into a "Trail Night" which is perfect! Meet at Lowry Nature Center at 6:00pm for a wooded trail or paved path ramble. Afterwards it seems Enki is the place to be; even if you just want to E or D or Both!!

Saturday 8:00am; Back by popular demand; Floyd's in Victoria! Meet in Floyd's parking lot (patio side of the building) and we will jump on the Dakota Trail and head toward Spring Park. It's an out and back so you get to pick how far and how fast. Afterwards....... well Duh!

Tuesday 10-6-15 Waconia city park 6:15pm. A few miles in and around town. Pace and distance will vary but we never vary on the fun!

Thursday 10-8-15 Meet us in Mound starting from Carbone's parking lot at 6:00pm. Enjoy the Dakota Trail to the west for some fun miles. (some folks are heading to Ashland early for Whistlestop and won't make it)

Saturday 10-10-15 Get out to the Ox Yoke Inn and run the Luce Line. Meet at 8:00am in the Ox Yoke lot. Plenty of gravel and views!! (some will be racing and funning and can't make it, but I thought I would post a spot for those who are in town to gather)

Saturday 8-15 8:30am Fitness and Waffles at Gear West. Run the Luce Line and/or woods single track.

Monday Run Day at 4;45pm from the Snap Fitness in Maple Plain we will do the Baker Park loop that's just over 6 miles and super fun. After the run plan on jumping into the Core/Abs class at Snap Fitness. Plenty of fun for everyone!

Tuesday we will head to Lake Rebecca Park in Delano for a good time run. The trail is nice and shaded and a few small hills (hehe). The plan would be to grab a few snacks for tail-gating in the parking lot afterwards. Coolers are recommended!!

Thursday join us at 6:00pm at Snap Fitness in Maple Plain for a Core/Abs fun time then we will drive to the Ox Yoke Inn and run the Luce Line Trail west. meet in the Parking lot at 7:00pm of the Luce Line right next to Ox Yoke Inn on 92. Plenty of shade and tons of fun!!

Meet at the parking lot for some great running and hiking on the trails in Afton Stare Park. This is always a big hit! After the fitness let the fun begin! It's one of those get together's where you bring what you want and everyone can share. There's always a cooler or two!! We will have charcoal and tools and packs of hotdogs with buns. Let the summer fun begin!

There are a few folks headed to the first Endless Summer Trail Race. They are meeting at the Mound Anytime Fitness at 3:45 to car pool. Then stopping at the Best Buy in Eden Prairie to pick up some more folks.
If you are not going to the ESTR meet at the Carbonie's parking lot at 6:15pm for an out and back on the Dakota Trail.

Fun little paved path action! Do an out and back or the 5.75 loop or go crazy and do the 7.5 loop!!! It's all good! Bring friends! Afterwards the plan is to head to Daves Town Club in Delano! Free popcorn and yummy food!

Join us for sweaty fun and a few laughs. The Core/Abs class is super popular because; who can't use some core and abs work?!?! Right?!?! The Cardio/Circuit is a hoot if you like hard work and sweat!! Great time had at both! If you are up for a run after the Core/Abs class I am sure there you could trick a few people into a Baker Park Loop, just sayin!! And don't forget it's $1 tacos at Monie's on Wednesday night, just sayin, sayin!

Tuesday Run and Fun Night

Meet at the Snap Fitness Maple Plain for a fun fitness event around Baker Park! The Baker Park Loop is just over 6 miles and there are a couple hills to add to the fun. Go fast or take your time, either way you end up at the same spot! If the whole loop is a bit much you can always to an out and back. After the fitness there's plenty of fun to be had at Monnie's with free popcorn and good food!


Wednesday Core/Abs and Cardio Boot Camp or Run

Join us for a fun Core/Abs class. Core is the key to good health and athletic stability. After the core/abs class stick around for a cardio boot camp or go for a run at Baker Park. Plenty of options and plenty of fun!

    Lowry Nature Center in Victoria (ask Dave and Judy for directions)
    Join us for a fun scamper thru the woods and meadows. The trails are in great shape, gravel to wood chips to dirt paths; all are super ready for ya!! The routes can really vary from 3-4 miles to 6 plus depending on how everyone is feeling. After the run, the fun will be at Floyd's in Victoria.

    Come on over to Maple Plain Snap Fitness for a great core/abs class followed by a good time cardio group. Core/Abs starts at 6:00pm followed by the cardio at 6:30pm. And remember its $1 taco Wednesday at Monie's!

    Meet to Maple Plain Snap Fitness and we will figure out where we should run. Most of the time we go about 4 to 6 miles and a reasonable pace. We can do the Luce Lice or Baker Park or wherever the group feels like.

This Week's Running and Funning Opportunities 4-13-15 to 4-18-15


It's Trail Mix this coming Saturday so some folks may (or may not) be on taper. Although taper doesn't mean doing nothing it does mean taking it easy and not pushing hard during running workouts. So if you happen to be tapering, consider joining the group events and taking it easy.

We will head west on the Dakota Trail for a bunch of super flat speedy miles. The weather is shaping up to be just about perfect so don't miss out on this spring time early evening run. After the run plan on enjoying some food and pre-planning the weekend racing and running. 
Wednesday Core and Cardio Night
4-15-15 Maple Plain Snap Fitness 6:00pm and 6:30pm

Join us at Maple Plain Snap Fitness for Core/Abs class of a half hour followed by some fun times on machines to get a low/no impact cardio workout. (You don't have to be a Snap Fitness Member to join in on the fun!) There may be a small group that goes for a 40 minute run at the same time as the cardio class (maybe, hehe). After the fitness don't miss the fun and free popcorn and $1 tacos across the street.

4-16-15 noon Maple Plain Snap Fitness and Baker Park 

The plan is to do a loop (or part of it) on the horse trail that circles Baker Park. The total loop is right at 7 miles and is in great shape. We want to get on this trail before the horses rip it up in a few weeks. 
Friday Shake-out run
7:30am 110 Parking Lot for the Luce Line (ask if you need directions)

Nice easy 4-5 miles on the Luce Line for anyone who wants to join in. We will do a little walking and running and talking about the awesome time some will be having at the Trail Mix race Saturday.

We are going out for a Baker Park run at noon this Thursday. The loop is 6.2 miles and is a great run! Meet at the Maple Plain Snap Fitness before the run.

Lowry Nature Center Trail Run/Hike
The trails are in perfect shape for a few laps. There are trails for 3-4-6-8-10 mile loops all on wood chips and gravel with parking lot breaks every few miles to refill water and food if you need. This is a great running location for training trails/ultras. Spend a couple hours in the woods running and getting your legs/feet/ankles ready for the summer.
Meet at Floyd's in Victoria at 10:00am for a fun afterwards.

There will be a car pool gang leaving Mound Anytime Fitness at 7:30am if you want to ride/follow.
Take Highway 12 West towards Delano. Turn right on County Rd 139 then turn right on County Rd 50 towards the park entrance. Park by the playground. There are maps at the site so we will be able to find our way around the route. The plan is to go kinda easy and stick together as a group.

Saturday 3-21-15 Details


Minneapolis Run; Lake Calhoun, Lake Harriet, Lake of the Isles.

Run time 8:30am from the parking ramp at Calhoun Square.
There is a car pool leaving Mound (AnyTime Fitness) at 7:30am. (or you are welcome to meet at Calhoun Square if you prefer.)
The mileage and routes will vary from 4 to 12 miles, depending what you are up for.
After the Fitness Event we will all meet at Republic (in Calhoun Square) for a few laughs and to talk about how cool we are are for running the lakes!!
Only rule is to have fun!!!

Tuesday St. Patric's Day Run

Tons of fun was had on the Dakota Trail. Some went 4 miles, others did 5 and still others did 6 miles!! But the key was that everyone had a great time!!

Fun for Week 3-16 to 3-21



Tuesday 3-17-15 is St. Patric's day; so where else would Team RED Metro meet for a run other than a pizza place? Makes perfect sense to me..... Meet us at 6:15pm at Carbones in Mound. It should be a perfect night to run/hike the Dakota trail to the west.

Wednesday 3-18-15 Is Taco Wednesday! Makes sense to me...... Met at Snap Fitness Maple Plain at 6:00pm for Core/Abs class then 6:30pm for Cardio FUN! followed by $1 Tacos!! Worth it!!

Thursday Morning Run 3-19-15 Meet at Snap Fitness Maple Plain at 7:30am and we head out to Baker Park to run the LOOP (or part of it depending on the day). Its a great place to get a few rolling hills into your work-out while never crossing a road for 7 miles!

Saturday 3-21-15 Downtown Minneapolis Run. We will have more details soon on this; but the idea is to do a loop along the river and back for 11 miles (there will be an 8 mile loop as well).

We will meet in the Fresh Season's Parking lot (across from Floyd's) in Victoria at 8:00am. The will head down the hill to the LRT trail towards Shorewood. There will be 4-5-6 mile groups (or more if need be) and varying paces. Puppies are more than welcome! Dress warm and bring your grippies in case. The trail looked good this morning but you never know. Afterwards stick around for some good food and a few laughs in Floyd's.

Join us at Floyd's Bar in Victoria at 8:00am this Saturday (2-7-15) for a nice little plowed trail adventure. We will jump on the LRT out of Victoria. There will be distances of all kinds 4-5-6 or more miles depending on how much fun you are ready for. The trail is plowed and is made up of mainly gravel (although there's a short stretch of paved out of Victoria). Bring your four legged friends, they love it out there!! After the fitness there's always time for a little fun at Floyd's.

Saturday Fun Run 1-24-15

Join us in Vic's Parking lot at 8:00am on Saturday. We will jump on the LTR for a few miles of spring like running (well almost!). The trail has been plowed and is in pretty good shape, although it may be a good idea to wear your grippers if you feel the need. There will be 4-5-6 mile groups and a couple different paces I am guessing. Afterwards its a good chance we will end up at Floyd's for some grub.

Ox Yoke Inn Saturday Run is shaping up to be great fun. We wanted to stay on the trail because most of the snow is already gone so there shouldn't be much ice from the freeze back. The weather will be very nice and the trail is in great shape. Plan on 4 to 6 super fun miles followed by some major yum breakfast. Don't miss it. Oh yeah, and puppies and dogs are welcome!!
