Join us for some fitness and fun; and what can be more fun than waffles after your fitness? We leave from Gear West at 8:30am and head to the Luce Line Trail. You can stay on the nice flat gravel path for as far as you like then spin around and head back. Or you can jump off the Luce Line about a half mile out onto some single track paths in the woods. There are usually groups doing both and even groups headed out for a long trail run of up to 10 miles. The perfect part of the Saturday event is; you get to pick you fitness and just remember go as far and as fast as you would like, but end up trying the great home made waffles when you are done. Stay and take a look around Gear West and ask questions about equipment if you would like. See you there!

Join us at Lowry Nature Center for a ramble through the woods and fields. Its all good on the trails. Do your best and push your limit while enjoying friends and nature. It won't be long before you will be scraping your windshield! We meet in parking lot at 6:15pm. Bring someone fun with you, they don't even have to be into fitness, as long as they can walk........

You don't even have to be a member of Snap Fitness to join in on the fun for this class. We are having a Pilates class at 7:00pm. We are introducing Marky to our Maple Plain Snap Fitness Team. The class will be just under an hour. Its a great way to try out Pilates!! This is a FREE introductory class.

Tuesday is for Trails!! 8-19
Lowry Nature Center in Victoria
6:15pm 
Meet in the parking lot of the Lowry Nature Center. We will head out for a run or run/walk or walk. It's up to you, just as long as you get your fitness on! You can pick a group that is going 3-4 or 6 miles and at the pace you would like. The gravel and wood chip trails are very well maintained and not too hilly. If you have never been on these trails you are truly missing out. Afterwards we will head into Victoria for refreshments and a few laughs.

Join us for an intro to Kettlebells at 6:00pm. Just like the Pilates class; you don't have to be a Snap Fitness member to join in on the fun this week! Linda is the instructor and teaches safety first Kettlebells. Its a great core and strength workout. And it's FREE, how can you beat that?!?!

Weekend Fitness Opportunities 8-16 and 8-17

Run, Hike + Waffles at Gear West 
Saturday 8-16 
Meet at Gear West at 8:30am for a great trail run/hike. The trails are in great shape and last week there were hardly any bugs at all! Yay, less bugs!! You can go as long and fast or as slow as you on the fitness part. You will want to go fast on the waffle part because there are YUMMY!! Bring your friends and head for the woods, or stay on the Luce Line gravel path; either way, its a blast!

Maple Plain Days Beer Barrel 5K
Saturday 8-16
You read it right, the Beer Barrel 5K starts at 8:30am on Saturday!! Registration opens at 7:30am at the Park and Ride parking lot on Baker Park Rd. Maple Plain is having a whole day of fun, kicked off with a 5K in Baker Park. There a farmers market, softball tournament, classic car show, a parade, Bingo and the beer gardens open at 3:00pm. There will be entertainment from 1:00pm until 11:30pm. It looks to be a great time!!

Sunday Long Run
Sunday 8-17
If you are interested in a long slow run on Sunday morning; starting around 7:00am, drop me an email chrisramsey2092@gmail.com Baker Park has a great 6.5 mile loop with a water fountain and a couple bathrooms scattered around. The plan would be to do 3 plus loops. You are welcome to do all or part of it.

It looks like our crew may be split up this week. Bummer!!
The last Endless Summer Trail Race is this week. The race is at Hyland Park in Bloomington and starts at 6:30pm. You need to get there early for parking. If you have never done an Endless Summer Race; they are truly well done! Plus you get a great beer glass and beer and pizza at the end! He is the link to the race.

Thursday is Team RED Run and Circuit Training night!
Baker Park and Snap Fitness Maple Plain
8-14-14 6:00pm
Join us for fitness and fun. You can zoom around Baker Park for your run. The trail is awesome; nicely paved, bath room stops, water fountain, wild life and very pretty views! The whole loop is 6.5 miles but can be an out and back also; so for for a half hour and come back, simple and fun! Or if you want to hit the strength and cardio equipment; Snap Fitness will be open for FUN! We will have some circuit training set up with; Climb mill, elliptical, rowing machine, bike, and tread mill. SWEAT it up!

Saturday is Fitness and Waffle Day! Sunday Corn Days!!

Don't miss Run, a Hike and Waffles. I mean really, what is more fun than getting your fitness on followed by some yummy waffles? 8:30am on Saturday. Meet us at Gear West and let the fun begin!

Sunday is Corn Days in Long Lake.
There's a 5K starting at 9am
Candy Corn 1 Mile at 10am
You get a $1.00 discount on your Pancake Breakfast when you bring your race number!!
Then hang out until noon for the Parade!!

The Week Ahead 8-3-14

Here we go kids. This week looks like a great week!

Tuesday Trails Lowry Nature Center
6:15pm

Well the secret is out. Tuesday's are a blast! Lowry Nature is great for all levels of runners and walkers and run/walkers. The trails are nice and wide, covered in wood chips and gravel. Sure there are a few bugs, but they gotta eat too. You can go out for a nice hike or a speedy turn on the trails. After the fitness is done, we head out together in a sweaty caravan to grab refreshments and refuel. It's a great way to meet new people and get your fitness on!

This week we are going to do something different! We are going to meet at the SNAP Fitness in Maple Plain. There is a beautiful paved trail in Baker Park right behind the gym. You can do an out and back or do the loop (I'll explain when we meet). If the weather wants to be nasty we will stay at SNAP and get our fitness on.
